Composer Camille Pepin is making her presence felt in the field of Western Classical Music. She said that she was the only woman in all the classes in the Conservatoir. She is now working on a first ballet score in her apartment in Paris which doubles up as her studio.

She made a breakthrough with the  Orchestra piece’ Vajrayana’ in 2015.She believes that it will take generations for female composers to get just recognition. Many female composers  are crushed despite being distinguished composers and musicians. It is still  the biggest problem for young female composers as they lack  role models. Somehow a few women such as American composer Meredith Monk,  Kaja Saariaho of Finland and Tansy Davies from Britain have managed to break the glass ceiling.
