Raj Kanwar a widow of armyman Chunni Lal had been running from pillar to post to get pension after her husband’s demise in 1952. The reason was that she did not have any papers to prove that her husband was an ex army man.

Since then his widow was asked to bring identify proof to support her claim for pension. The family struggled and finally found a lunch box bearing an army number. This helped to trace his service records and Raj Kanwar started receiving a pension of Rs 4,000/ since December 2017 after a long wait for 65 years.
