The Kingfisher ULTRA Derby Bangalore 2019 is the perfect metaphor for fashion and the celebration of what Kingfisher stands for, “The Good Times”. The 2019 edition of the Kingfisher Ultra Indian Derby was an extravaganza; a great line-up of thoroughbreds and the beau monde of the city. Well Connected kept her date with destiny in the most anticipated event of the Indian racing calendar, The Kingfisher Ultra Indian Derby, with a remarkable performance in front of a stellar crowd of over 20,000. Trained by S. Padmanabhan and ridden by David Allan, she thundered towards victory to win the coveted trophy on the last stride. Well Connected owned by Mrs. Behroze Z Poonawalla and Mr. Yohan Z Poonawalla and Mrs Michelle Y Poonawalla took home the Rs. 1.25 crores of the total Rs. 2.55 crore prize money and the Silver Trophy from Gurpreet Singh, Divisional Vice President, Marketing, United Breweries Limited and Harimohan Naidu, Chairman of the Bangalore Turf Club (BTC) with the committee members of the BTC. Commenting on the occasion, Gurpreet Singh, Divisional Vice President, Marketing, United Breweries Limited said, “We are proud of our association with the Bangalore Derby which has spanned over three decades, and entrust Kingfisher ULTRA to continue the legacy of putting together the most spectacular horseracing event in the city. I would like to congratulate the winner for the outstanding race today and thank the racing enthusiasts who have over the years turned out in great numbers to make it one of the most celebrated sporting events. I would also like to thank and congratulate the horse owners and breeders, jockeys and BTC for making the Kingfisher Ultra Derby a memorable event.”
