How did you get into this field?

Photography was something that happened over time. I picked up my first camera around 11 years ago – I was very passionate about photography and was shooting portraits and portfolios commercially when I was asked if I could shoot a wedding for a client. And I jumped right in!

Experience: It has been 7 years of shooting weddings, and over 8 years of photographing commercially.

Tell us about your primary style?

I would say – honest and evocative. I like my pictures to speak for themselves, and believe that if you do not feel it, you can’t really photograph it. So my focus is always on being present, being very aware, and really being in the moment, so that I am able to witness and feel what our brides and grooms are experiencing.

What is that one thing you are tired of hearing?

What is a dental surgeon doing shooting weddings?

What is your favourite part of the wedding?

Palpable emotions as the bride is waiting to enter/enters the ceremonial hall with the groom, her parents and all the guests waiting to receive and see her and greet her.

What is your primary focus when you are taking on a wedding?

To be in the moment, and capture those once in a lifetime photos, to be connected to the couple and have excellent timing.

What makes you different?

Can make magic happen in the most mundane and challenging conditions. Am also very perceptive, aware of the subtle.

Your favourite equipment…

Currently it is the Canon 1Dx and the Canon 5dmark4. I am also now occasionally using some Sony mirrorless equipment, purely because of the weight of my gear.

What advice would you give to couples looking for a wedding photographer?

That they should think of wedding photography as an investment and hire a professional, as photographs are the only thing that will remain as years go by. And do go with someone you feel a connect.

If there was one place in the world you would love to capture a wedding where would it be and why?

Leh, that place is magical. The expanse and serenity complements the start of a new life together.
