How did you get into this field?

I started photography during my school days at Hyderabad Public School where I was the editor of the school newsletter. This developed into a part-time job at University in the UK. Once I moved back to India 5 years ago, I started to explore photography as a full time career. What started out as capturing the wedding of a friend in 2012 has become my primary profession today.

Tell us about your primary style?

Capturing the moments of the wedding day as they go on without interrupting the proceedings. I want the couple to enjoy the experience of getting married and treasure every single moment. And of course, it is vital to cover all the important members of the family.

What is that one thing you are tired of hearing?

Honestly, while some questions/phrases might feel repetitive, I understand that it is a new experience for every couple so I always patiently answer all queries to ensure that there is no communication gap.

What is your favourite part of the wedding?

Every wedding has a few moments when emotions run high and capturing them at the right instant is both challenging and exciting. The muhurtam is one such moment and the send off is another.

Your favourite equipment?

I have been a loyal user of Canon for the past decade and plan to use them for the foreseeable future. Having been a regular user of the camera, the controls of it are second nature to me and helps me work faster. I have a Canon 5D Mk IV along with a range of prime lenses.

What advice would you give to couples looking for a wedding photographer?

Communication is key. Make sure that you understand the style of the photographer and he/she understands your expectations.

If there was one place in the world you would love to capture a wedding where would it be and why?

I would love to cover a small an intimate wedding in a private island. A secluded atmosphere while surrounded by close family and friends would lead to truly relaxed and candid moments to capture.

What is the best and worst moment you have had as a wedding photographer?

Best moment is always when the couple is immensely happy with the photos, and even though it happens often, it feels really good to have been a productive part of someone’s special day. Worst moment is when I once accidentally dropped a really expensive lens during a Sangeet ceremony.
