When many actors in Kollywood, who spoke in favour of Tamils in the Cauvery issue, received a severe backlash from Karnataka, Vishal just did the unthinkable. The actor spoke for the Tamil cause, right in Karnataka. Vishal was in Bengaluru for the audio launch of the Kannada film, Raghuveera that stars superstar Shiv Rajkumar. The actor began his speech with the golden words, “Udal mannukku Uyir Tamzhikku” (Body for the soil and soul for Tamil). He stressed upon the Cauvery issue and said that Tamilians had the right to share the water of the disputed river. He added that it was the duty of the people in both Tamil Nadu and Karnataka to protect those from the neighbouring state. He also offered the Tamil Nadu Film Producer’s help to all Kannada filmmakers, if they filmed in the state.
