Virat Kohli opens up defending low totals

India took a 2-0 lead in the five-match series against Australia following the thrilling eight-run victory in the second ODI in Nagpur. Virat Kohli and Vijay Shankar were in the talks of the entire nation after their heroics in the match. The Indian skipper smashed his 40thODI ton to power India to a competitive total of 250 runs on a tricky Nagpur track as Shankar supported him brilliantly before an unfortunate run-out getting dismissed for 46.

Kohli after the match said that defending low targets always gives great confidence to the team and prepare them well if a similar situation arises in the upcoming 2019 World Cup.  After the match, Kohli had states that the win has given them the confidence and will be instrumental in winning and it is very important to look ugly at times and earn victories.

There might be low totals in World Cup games as well. The whole team is looking forward to the world cup in June that will take place in England and Wales. With India winning a few series there is a sense of confidence that India has high chances of clinching a World cup win.
