Opt for a gown saree instead of the traditional chaniya choli, couple a simple floral skirt with a heavily embellished blouse, or a light crop top with a mirror-work ghaghra. Ditch the dupattaand convert it into a trendy cape!”

Since, garbais all about non-stop dancing for hours it is feasible to wear natural, breathable and light-weight fabrics like georgette or an even lighter Swiss tulle that keep you comfortable in the October weather.

“If your ghaghra’s flair is obstructing your dance moves, look no further than palazzo pants and team it up with a wide metallic or delicate string belt.One can also try and wear blouses which are like corsets or have snug armhole to permit hassle free dancing,” added AD Singh.

As important as it is to dress your best on all of the nine days, what adds to the charm is the right make-up to complement the attire. A thumb rule for make-up is to either go heavy on the eyes or the lips.

“Highlighting your eyes gives a whole new dimension to the overall look. Go subtle on the base make-up and all out with designing your eyes. Create a dramatic look by adding a colour palette or opting for a smoky look. These days patterned eye make-up is also gaining huge popularity amongst youngsters,” saysSteffhy Antony, renowned make-up artist.

“You can also go for a thin line of the universally loved black kajal and accentuate your lips with a bright coloured matte lipstick to give them a plump look. Add an enchanting sparkle to your eyes by wearing a Lacellecolouredcontact lens. A violet lens will give your eyes a romantic tint, a blue lens would instantly brighten up your entire look and a grey lens will give your eyes a touch of glamour and cool elegance,” she added.

Last but not the least, don’t forget to accessorize with the classic oxidized silver tone neckpiece, jhoomar earrings and a trendy nose pin.
