If months were weeks, February would be the most anticipated long weekend which deserves celebrations. The onset of the spring season also brings with it a blush of romance in the name of Valentine’s Day. The month marks the mood for the rest of the year to welcome new beginnings and rejoicing the support of the loved one unapologetically.

This Valentine’s Day, why not try something new by creating a whole new atmosphere at home where you can snuggle with your emotions of love. Well, one such conventional yet unconventional way of embracing love is through home décor. Paints are an integral part of your décor and painting walls this Valentine’s day could be an ideal way to express your emotions. Red and its various shades are usually regarded as the colour of love, this year bring ‘alive love’ with shades of red (Pale Rose), green (Mint Green) and blue (Satin Blue) to redefine love in a way that you can relate to.

Red is a hue that can evoke several emotions- it can be energizing and glossy in a living room, spicy and appetizing in a kitchen, and sensual in a bedroom. Its shades reflect versatility, with Murray Red flowing into bolder shades of pink and white. The texture and feel of the colour leave the heart full of passion. The lighter shade of red with a tinge of pink are also perfect for Valentine’s fervour, they foster hues that are bright and provoke happiness and energy. The euphoria and tenderness of pink calm the soul and encourage communication. Shades of pink like Hot Flamingo, Energy peak and Primrose create a sophisticated environment and induce tranquillity.

Pink forms a perfect couple with shades of white and brown. With white, it connotes the feeling of serenity whereas coupled with brown it is both urbane and vintage. Though Pink and Red aptly define this season of love but thinking out of the box and doing something unorthodox can also do wonders to the house. Colours like blue and green are perfect for such a thought. Being the harbingers of contentment and harmony, shades of blue (Mint Green) and green (Mint Green) mimic the environment outside. So, go ahead and paint your world with colours that signify love and warmth.
