Theatre Nisha is set to present Girish Karnad’s play ‘Flowers’ on January 30

‘Flowers’ is one of the two monologues written by Girish Karnad.
A devout priest, who ornately decorates the linga of the sanctum, falls prey to the desire considered blasphemous. He falls for a rich courtesan who visits the temple on a Shivarathri. He visits her, and she entices him to decorate her just as he does the linga. The flowers that adorned the lord at dawn caress the courtesan at dusk. However, when the Chieftain finds a strand of hair in the prasada, fates turn and what ensues changes the dharma and karma of the priest.
