The election petition came up for hearing and the same was admitted and notice was ordered to Kanimozhi, the Election Commission of India and the Returning Officer.
In the meantime, Tamilisai was appointed as the Governor of the State of Telangana. When the petition came up for hearing before Justice S. M. Subramaniam, she filed a petition before the court seeking to withdraw her election petition in view of the fact that she has been appointed to a constitutional post and that she did not intend to continue prosecution of the petition. The Court directed her counsel to complete the procedure for withdrawal and posted the case for hearing on October 14th.
