It doesn’t matter what shape, size, sex, skin or age you are. There are styles and fashion for everyone. Last season Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2016 created fashion uproar with the first “Plus Size” show.

For Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2017 at The 6Degree Studio ‘#Tag Free’ show was the talk of the event when 23 assorted Celebrities rocked the ramp; as they strutted their individual attitudes in creations by India’s top 7 designers.

The show aimed to depict diversity in terms of beauty beyond appearance and ensured that the stereo-type of restricting one’s self in a certain shape and size was totally broken. The #Tag Free show was expertly curated by Kshitij Kankaria, the country’s ace stylist who brought out the best in every lady as she made her individual fashion statement.

The very high octane show opened with DJ Siddharth Vashi’s up-beat pop music that set the mood for the much awaited event.

India’s top labels, Bodice, Dhruv Kapoor, Miuniku, Rajesh Pratap Singh, Raw Mango, Sanchita and Suket Dhir presented designs that were ideal for every woman in the country.

The show’s concept was unique as confining tags were removed and stereotypes in fashion banished, so that every woman can make an impression on or off the catwalk.

The great line-up of confident women proved they were the best in their chosen fields of profession. The feisty list included hair/makeup artist Laila Dalal, glamorous transgender model Anjali Lama, top fashion blogger Shereen Sikka, singer/songwriter Kavya Trehan, film star Priyanka Bose, fashion consultant Angélique Raina, fashion stylist Sujala Newar, gender neutral model Petr Nitka,  singer/songwriter Rachel Verghese,  actor Shweta Sharma,  ace hairstylist Sapna Bhavnani,  actor Simran Borade,  writer Krithika B,  executive Aditi Kaushik,  entrepreneur Cheruba Nelson, Bollywood star Sarah-Jane Dias, photographer Anushka Menon,  fashion editor Pasham Alwani,  personal trainer Nilparna Sen, singer/songwriter Monica Dogra,  entrepreneur Mishali, actor Subhi and blogger/model/stylist Toshada Uma who  came together for a dramatic show stopping walk down the ramp to thunderous applause.

A short AV after the show interpreted an interesting graphic fusion of social, cultural and political influences on women as well as body shaming and gender discrimination.

This one-of-a-kind show was a step towards breaking the taboo, making every woman acceptable and reminded the audience that beauty cannot be held in a mould.

Who says every woman is not a showstopper? “The #Tag Free” show at The 6Degree Studio during Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2017 proved there is a fashion diva in every woman, anywhere in the world, that can rock the ramp at any time.
