A Supreme Court Bench comprising of Justice Arun Mishra and Justice Indira Banerjee will hear the petition filed by Omar Abdullah’s sister Sara challenging the booking of her brother under the Public Safety Act. Senior Advocate Kapil Sibal is appearing for Sara Abdullah.

Sara wants her brother to be produced before the Court and expressed her fear that she was gravely concerned about the welfare, safety and security of her brother. He was under detention from August 5 and the Public Safety Act was slapped on him on February 5, 2020. She submitted that her brother’s detention was to end on February 5 as he had served the maximum period of detention and was shocked to note that a fresh detention was imposed on him. She further stated that she feared danger to her brother’s life and liberty and therefore she challenged his detention under the Public Safety Act.
