The Supreme Court restrained media from putting images of rape victims especially of minor girls even in blurred or morphed forms. The Bench suo moto took cognisance of the rape incidents in shelter homes wherein inmates were sedated and raped.

It barred the media from interviewing the minor girls and also agreed to look into the issue of preventing the victims from being harassed by the Police and the media. It further sought an explanation from the Bihar government and the Ministry of Women and Child Development as to why no steps were taken to stop the rape of minor girls in homes.
