The Supreme Court refused to intervene in the release of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s biopic. The Bench led by Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi said that the court could not order stay unless it is clear about what the film depicted and it asked Congress activist the Petitioner in the case, Aman Panwar what is objectionable. Chief Justice asked Senior Advocate A.M Singhvi who presented the case as to  how he could order a stay without knowing the content of the biopic.

The Bench asked the petitioner to file an application after watching the film and highlight the parts that he found objectionable . Senior advocate Mr Singhvi then requested the court to  direct the filmmakers to provide the Petitioner with a  copy of the movie. The Bench however refused and said that it could could not pass such a direction.
