A  Jain girl got married to a Muslim boy after he converted to Hinduism. The marriage was solemnised at the Arya Samaj temple in Chattisgarh on February 23rd 2018. The girl’s parents opposed the marriage. When the matter came up before the Supreme Court, the girl  was produced before a three judge bench and though she admitted to the marriage, she said she didn’t want to live with her husband as she claimed that she was induced into the marriage.

She expressed her desire to go back to her parents. The counsel for the husband argued that the girl was being subject to psychological pressure from her parents and that her parents were keeping her in unlawful custody. However the Court accepted the request made by the girl and allowed her to go back to her parents.
