This February, The Westin Chennai joins hands with Sundari Akka who has been dishing out mouth-watering and spicy seafood for the last 18 years from her Kadai at Marina Beach, where people from all walks of life gather to taste the legendary food that it is known for.
The Westin Chennai Velachery is glad to be one of the first five-star luxury hotels in the city, where Sundari Akka will be dishing out her staples to a larger audience away from her usual Kadai on the beach. The flavors of the Grand Marina beach is incomplete with fresh seafood and to ensure that our diners only get the best and the freshest of the ingredients, our team of Chefs along with Sundari Akka will be headed to the beach on her own boat and catch the freshest of the seafood available. She will also be carrying her own hand pounded spices, about which she doesn’t reveal much and likes to keep it as a secret.
To start with, in the appetizers section, one can binge on local delicacies such as Mutton Melugu Peratal, Kozhi Parngi Varathal, Earal Thennga Sukka, Kadamba Meen Varathathu, Kai Meen Fry. For the vegetarians, one can pick from a wide range of hot appetizers such as Vazhakai Chap, Kalan Pattani Varati, Vazhathandu Pratal, Vendakai Vartha Sukka, Kathirikai Parupu Vazhai.
From the Live Grills, there will be a choice of marinades of all kinds of seafood. Moving to the mains, Amma Ven Meen Kozumbu, Attu Eeral Kozumbu, Attu Kari Thenga Masala, Era Vengayam Masala, Nandu Curry Chukka, Sippi Thokku and more. To end the meal on a sweet note, our diners indulge in desserts such as Elaneer Payasam, Erittukadai Halwa, Jangri, Pacha Parippu Payasam, Poosinikkai Halwa.
