The father of Subasri who lost her life after an unfortunate accident when a banner fell on her, has filed a writ petition in the Madras High Court claiming compensation of Rs 1 crore from the State government. Apart from claiming the monetary relief, he has also insisted that a special investigation team is constituted to prosecute those who were responsible for the death of his daughter.
His third plea was to bring about a special legislation and provide stringent punishment for those erecting unauthorized banners and flex boards on roadsides. He submitted that Subasri was his only child who had passed out with degree in B Tech( Mechatronics) and the death of his only child had affected him and his wife both mentally and economically. He therefore prayed that the court allows his petition as both he and his homemaker wife had become orphans.
