Sixth edition of Pune Fashion week, a grand success, ace Designer Nivedita ups the style quotient at the spectacular grand finale

The sixth edition of the prestigious & luxurious Pune Fashion week, presented by BVLGARI was a two-day extravaganza of style and vogue, with a blend of glitz and glamour as it unfurled marvelous collections fabricated by 13 designers sheathed by sizzling models. The two days witnessed a galaxy of attendees from various genres – including actors, socialites, designers, buyers and entrepreneurs. Pune’s annual rendezvous with fashion came to a glorious end with couturier Nivedita Saboo showcasing her new collection “Circa 2016”. Mr. World Rohit Khandelwal looked dashing as he walked the ramp for Designer Nivedita as the showstopper, for the dazzling grand finale. NGO Smile Foundation was the charity partner for the event, where Pune Fashion Week whole-heartedly supported the cause of Girl Child Empowerment by giving them the gift of education.

A perfect concoction of glamour, glitterati and fashion, Pune Fashion Week kick-started on 24th September with the launch of the Luxury Exhibition “the Luxe Expo” which boasted of highly adorned ‘signature’ pieces curated by the renowned brands namely, Ducati, Ethos, Polaris, D.A.D [Daljit Auto Design], BMW amongst other.

Making its own place in the midst of glamour, this year witnessed the launch of “The Fashion Knowledge series” and “Genesis” for students to interact with renowned speakers and get an opportunity to work with them backstage.

The glittering evening of day one witnessed the launch of the much-awaited two-day prestigious fashion extravaganza, the ramp show, of the Pune Fashion Week. With unique and extravagant ultra-modern sets, beautifully crafted lighting, models strutted the ramp in stunning designer creations.  Talented and known designer from India and abroad showcased their festive and bridal collection for the upcoming festivities and wedding season.Marathi actress Rutuja Shinde walked the ramp for Designer Shikha Kothari premiering her Fall collection “Siddha”. Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon strutted the ramp graciously as the showstopper for Designer Purva Pardeshi’s label RED, showcasing her collection “The Urban Warrior”. Mrs. India Globe Ilakshi More celebrated the grace and elegance of a woman as she walked for Designer Hina Madhumal. Designer Sangeeta Sharma presented her Bridal Collection “Forget me Not” inspired by Lily with Actress Adah Sharma glowing in the beauty of her clothes as she walked the ramp as the showstopper. Actress Sarah Jane Dias looked gorgeous in the black gown by Designer Kanchan Kulkarni as she showcased her collection “All the Glitters”. The glamorous Brazilian Bollywood actress Bruna Abdullah, who looked resplendent as Designer Nitya Bajaj showstopper in her collection “Ritz”, very well portrayed the theme of Gatsby.

Actor ANKIT BATHLA showcased Designer Sharad Raghav’s collection “the Pink Mosque”.

The last two shows of the first day were the highlights of the evening. The veteran designer Ashok Maanay, who unveiled his bridal and collection “Serenity”, put another breathtaking show together. The Pune girl, actress Pooja Chopra looked pretty in a Sari with heavy brocade border, as she walked the ramp for Designer Ashok Maanay as the showstopper. The most spectacular show of the day was saved for the evening. Being organized for a very noble cause of supporting Girl Child Education, Designer Pria Kataria Puri had put together this amazing collection called“Pura Vida” for NGO Smile Foundation. Actress Pooja Gupta looked resplendent in Pria’s outfit as she walked the ramp in support of Girl Child education for Smile Foundation.

The second day of the 6th edition of the Pune Fashion Week was even more plush and glamorous than the opening day with ace designer and couturier Nivedita Saboo showcasing a spectacular collection in the grand finale. Taking the style quotient of the city a notch higher, couturier Nivedita Saboo played with myriad glistening colours of frosty English evenings, varied heritage techniques and regally elaborate silhouettes as she showcased the theatrically brilliant English renaissance set on this side of the Deccan plateau, Circa 2016. Celebrating layering and an enchanting spectrum that together explores the limitless boundaries of fashion, the collection remoulds traditional hand-work, combining it with the designer’s signature techniques of pleating, appliqué work and quilting to present a runway that is brought to life with its classically romantic silhouettes. Mr. World Rohit Khandelwal looked dashing as he walked the ramp for Designer Nivedita as the showstopper, for the dazzling grand finale.

The evening also witnessed FAD, MIT, Hair and Makeup show by Zara International wherein makeup artists and hairstyling student Rajvi Vora, Khilti Savla, Kareen Parwani and Shaili Mehta put a fabulous “Creative Fantasy Makeup Fashion Show”. Adding to the fashion quotient were shows of Veteran Designer Devaki of Kanya where Miss India Asia Pacific 2013 Shrishti Rana walked the ramp for her. Actress Waluscha De Sousalooked a beautiful bride in Anj’s bridal collection as she walked the ramp as their showstopper. Model Arry Dabas presented Designer Bibi Russell’s collection inspired by Mahatma Gandhi.

All in all Pune Fashion Week 2016 was an opulent affair with the best in fashion, luxury and Bollywood all coming together under one roof, making the 6th edition, very stylish, luxurious and innovative.
