SIFWA expresses solidarity with #MeToo victims

The South Indian Film Women’s Association expressed solidarity with women who revealed the names of their harassers under the #MeToo movement. Participating in a media interaction organised by the Association, singer Chinmayi, director and actor Lakshmi Ramakrishnan, anchor and RJ Sriranjani and film-maker Leena Manimekalai had discussions on how the industry should handle sexual harassment and how to create a conducive working atmosphere for women.

There are so many young women in the film industry who are probably struggling to speak up and it is the Association who should offer support to them said Lakshmi Ramakrishnan. She also said the women who speak out should not be subjected to questioning and humiliation.
