The bond we share with our sibling is like no other – they are our best friends and worst enemies, and also our biggest partners in crime. At times, siblings provide us with our biggest competition, strongest encouragement and remind us of our most embarrassing moments – life without them is boring, uneventful and no fun.

In order to honour this relationship of immense love and hate, Sibling Day is celebrated on April 10 every year. Keeping this celebration going, we went around peeking into some homes, to understand the relationship between these brothers and sisters better. Read ahead to know more about them…

Rehan and Nilufer Guha

Rehan:

What habits does Nilufer have that you would change if you could?

She places everyone else’s needs above her own and gives others selflessly without bothering about her own comfort. While it’s a great quality to have I feel it takes a toll after a point.

How has your relationship changed over the years?

From fighting like cats and dogs to standing up for each other – we’ve come a really long way. For how we were as kids, if someone had seen us, they’d never imagine us to be this close.

One thing you can do that she can’t?

Put things in a logical perspective. She thinks through her heart and sometimes gets blinded by emotions.

My crutch, my backbone and my 4 am friend!

Nilufer Guha :

What habits does Rehan have that you would change if you could?

His communication habits – I’d love to see him open up a little more about his problems and opinion. He’s extremely introverted when it comes to expressing what he truly feels.

How has your relationship changed over the years?

We stopped hating each other as soon as he moved away to Australia for his higher studies, and ever since we’ve been each other’s biggest support.

Did you ever have a crush on any of his friends?

I think it was the other way round. I had cooler friends so it’d be him crushing on my friends!

What does he always disagree with your parents about?

About the fact that I am a more matured and a responsible person than he is. (laughs)

Complete this statement: “Rehan is…”

Not the most perfect man but his love really is out of the world. He’s a nutcase and not too good at emoting but you can count on him.
