Veteran actress Shabana Azmi met with an accident a few days ago and has been admitted to the ICU in the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital in Mumbai. Her driver has been arrested for rash driving. A number of visitors who went to the hospital to see her had to return without seeing her as she was in the ICU and not allowed to have visitors.
Her poet and writer husband Javed Akthar said that she was responding well to the treatment and should be out of the ICU by this evening. Even though there were no internal injuries, her face has been badly bruised. He thanked the people who have been praying for Shabana and those who stood by him during this setback. He further added that “Shabana is strong and she has fought her way out of the injuries.”
