Security tightened by police

The police force has made elaborate security arrangements to ensure a peaceful, accident free and crime free New Year’s Eve. Around 15,000/ police personnel would be stationed on duty to ensure safety of the public. Security will be intensified from 9 pm and vehicle checks will be conducted.

A total of 25 teams would monitor road safety awareness and 20 special teams would check bike races. Drunken drivers if caught will lose their license. Their names would be recorded in the State Crime Records Bureau and it will post difficulties for them to get a passport and Visa verification. Even the beaches will be provided with all terrain vehicles and horse patrols. Mobile surveillance teams will be deployed in crowded areas.
