As a nod to the progressively buoyant Indian wine landscape, and the resounding success of the maiden Indian Wine Day celebrated last year, in six The LaLit hotels in India and London, the Indian Wine Academy (IWA) has partnered once again with The LaLit Group to showcase Indian wines at all their properties in India (namely Delhi, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Jaipur, Udaipur, Chandigarh, Goa, Kolkata) and London on Friday, November 16, 2018. In Bengaluru, the event at The LaLit is being powered by the Bangalore Wine Club and has been promoted by the club whose 110 plus members comprise wine aficionados and gourmands. There will be an Indian Wine Village conducting tastings for all walk-in guests post 4 pm on the 16th November post which the special dinner will be orchestrated by the hotel team in Baluchi. Wines will be available at discounted prices. All the hotels belonging to The Lalit group will make wines available at 50% discount.
The pivot of the Indian Wine Day will be the Indian speciality restaurant, Baluchi at each of these venues. A five course gourmet Indian menu will be showcased to diners, paired with a line-up of
select Indian wines. As a parting shot, and a ‘Sparkling Showcase’, desserts and sparkling wines will be served at the nightclub, Kitty Ko lending the event a glamorous touch.
“The second Indian Wine Day in Bengaluru is a terrific opportunity for wine aficionados to taste a range of premium Indian wines and learn more about the industry. Also looking forward to a wonderful sit-down dinner with selected wines paired with the finest cuisine from Baluchi, here in Bangalore,” noted, Alok Chandra, Treasurer of Bangalore Wine Club and a highly regarded wine maestro. Each dish will be matched with premium and super-premium wines from Sula, Grover Zampa, Fratelli, York, Reveilo, Chandon, KRSMA, SDU, Big Banyan among others. Speared by the need of a unifying occasion to celebrate the growing Indian wine industry, Subhash Arora who heads the Indian Wine Academy and the Delhi Wine Club conceived the idea of dedicating a day to promote Indian wines.
“Indian Wine Day is a celebration of the growing stature of wines from India. A young India is at an inflection point to embrace ‘wine culture’ as part of a changing lifestyle!” says PK Mohankumar,
President, Bangalore Wine Club, summing up the vision of the Indian Wine Day.
