Travel today has become one of the choicest passions for the modern generation. Our daily lives have become so chaotic that everyone takes short breaks to keep their sanity intact.
Over the years people have spoken about how much one can learn by travelling and seeing other cultures alone, and these days parents have started to use that as an opportunity to bond with their kids and even fill their own basket of travelogues. The hectic city lives of working professionals and schedules of entire families, make the summer holidays of schools the most opportune time to spend time with one another and take that long desired holiday. Here’s a list of people who have recently come back from some fun getaways and share their experience. Here are their stories…

Destination: Maldives

Duration: One week

With: Friends

Purpose: To get away from the daily life and enjoy some sun, sand and sea

Places covered: We stayed at the Taj Vivanta – and did not step out of the resort. The holiday was all about eating, swimming in the pool and ocean, and relaxing.

“I literally had butterflies in my stomach when I saw the islands from the plane window as we were approaching them. Anyone who’s been there has to agree that it is the first magical moment when you fall in love with the Maldives!”

Highlight: The water is turquoise blue – almost azure and so clear that you can see the bottom of the ocean. It is miles and miles of tranquil blue sea with the wind in your face. And as you swim in the sea you can see the fish swim alongside you – it is surreal. Words fail me to describe the beauty of the ocean as it is mesmerising. You can spend hours in the water! Sometimes even a friendly shark swims by and sometimes we got to encounter a massive sting ray – we would just pause and marvel at the wonders of the ocean.

Food: I am a very experimental traveller – so we made sure we tried every kind of sea food available – and not to forget – their absolutely scrumptious fruity cocktails.
