Saraswathi Vidyalaya celebrates Founder’s day
Saraswathi Vidyalaya Hr. Sec. School, Vadapalani commemorated the memory of its Founder, Smt. Saraswathi on April 2nd at Vishranthi, a home for senior citizens. The President of the Rotary Club of Madras East, Smt. Jayanthi Govindan was the Chief Guest.
Super singer Ravishankar regaled the residents with songs from the yesteryears. The children and staff served lunch and a contribution was also handed over to Vishranthi. It was particularly befitting as Smt. Saraswathi was an active enthusiast in supporting the cause of underprivileged women.
As a part of the founder’s day, Graduation Day for the kindergarten children of Saraswathi Vidyalaya was also held. Sri. Murugavel Selvan, MD Pradot Technologies, the chief guest spoke to parents on the importance of giving children, a variety of skills needed to succeed in this 21st century. Super Singer Soundarya who was present during the occasion, spoke about the importance of all round development of the children. The little ones emceed the event, presented the annual report of the school and stole everyone’s heart with their performances as Radha and Krishna, Mickey and Minnie and with skits such as the Goldilocks and Aladdin recreated to suit modern times.
