Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt is making headlines but for all good reasons. The actor has always been transparent about the time when he fell prey to drugs. Even in his biopic titled Sanju, wherein Ranbir Kapoor essayed the titular role, viewers saw his struggles to do away with drug addiction. In a recent interview, Sanjay shared his willingness to be a part of a nation-wide campaign designed to fight against drug abuse. Apart from Sanjay Dutt, celebrities like Sonakshi Sinha, Varun Dhawan, Kapil Sharma, Parineeti Chopra, Badshah, and Varun Sharma have lent support to the anti-drug campaign, which will be launched on February 18  at educational campuses in Chandigarh and Hisar.

Talking about the same, the actor was quoted, “I have experienced the menace of drugs first hand. I know the havoc it creates and so this cause is close to my heart. The aim is to make this campaign India’s largest. It’s very easy to get sucked into drug abuse, but very difficult to get out of it. It all starts when minds are young and impressionable. We have to firmly tell youngsters that drug abuse is not cool. That’s why we want to reach out to the youth of this country and spread the word through campuses.”

Sanju took to his Twitter account to share a poster of #DrugFreeIndia campaign. The actor tweeted, “I always wanted to do something to uproot drug addiction from India. The #DrugFreeIndia campaign is a step towards that! Because of my personal experiences, it’s a cause very close to my heart & I want to help the youth of our country. Thank you @SriSri guruji for your support.”
