San Francisco Travel Association Participates in Fourth Brand USA India Sales Mission

San Francisco Travel Association participated in the Brand USA India Mission held in three cities of Chennai, Mumbai and New Delhi from 6-11 September 2015. Mr. Tom Kiely, Executive Vice President and Chief Tourism Officer and Ms. Antonette Eckert Director, International Tourism-Asia/Pacific represented San Francisco Travel Association in India Mission.

The objective of participating in this mission is to strengthen existing and create new relationships with the travel industry in India.

This year again we met with over ….. travel agents and tour operators in the course of the week. The response was very positive. The changing profile of the Indian traveler with increased demand for unique experiences, growth of the luxury segment are positive trends and San Francisco is well positioned with diverse offerings for travellers.” said Tom Kiely , San Francisco Travel’s Executive Vice President & Chief Tourism Officer.

San Francisco Travel Association was the first U.S. city to open their representative office in India through Sartha Marketing in 2007 and has been very active in the Indian market working closely with the travel trade and media. India is one of the three most important growth markets for San Francisco Travel, along with China and Brazil. 162,900 Indian travelers visited the city of San Francisco in 2014 marking an increase of 27.4% in the last 5 years.
