International fashion designer Ritu Beri has been appointed as the cultural and tourism ambassador for Uzbekistan in India. The designer has been working towards bringing the two countries closer by using the cultures from both nations in her clothing collections. Beri is the first Indian appointed for this position.
She further aims to deepen ties between both the nations, through her work. She is credited to be the first Indian designer to mark her presence in the fashion industry by showcasing her work and becoming the first Asian designer to head a French fashion house — Jean- Louis Scherrer.
Ritu feels exquisite craftsmanship can’t be sold at a low cost and exquisite craftsmanship comes naturally to a brand that has an artistic history.
