Rhythms of Desert By Purvi Doshi at the Bangalore Fashion Week.

Indian Contemporary Designer Purvi Doshi, the connoisseur of textiles and handlooms showcased an exquisite collection ‘Rhythms of Desert’ at Bangalore Fashion Week W/F 2016.

Purvi Doshi’s line this season was of geometric patterns with floral highlights and vibrant colors that are inspired by the Gypsies of the desert that are an integral part of the folk arts of India. The garments had an eye-capturing spread of Oases-like brilliantly coloured Parsi embroideries incorporated in contemporary designs and silhouettes exclusively made in Khadi.

“Rhythms of Desert” has “Sustainability” at its root and “Make in India” in its soul, as it is made out of purely hand-woven India-made “Khadi” fabric. This collection was one more move towards popularizing these forgotten arts that help generate employment at the source that go a long way towards keeping it alive.
