Over the past four decades, designer Ritu Kumar has pioneered the revival of the finest textile techniques. As part of this legacy, the brand launched ‘Revivalist by Ritu Kumar’, a unique endeavour aimed at bringing traditional handicrafts and textiles into mainstream Indian fashion.

The first collection launched under the Revivalist banner was, the’ Kutch Collection’ in collaboration with Kala Raksha, a well-knowngrassroots social enterprise based in the outskirts of Bhuj. The next signature collection focusses attention on the ancient art of hand-knotted tie and dye, traditional to Kutch, Rajasthan and Gujarat arid regions of the country. Referred to as the ‘Shibori Collection’ (a word for a unique pattern of tie and dyeing ), the signature line has been designed in collaboration with the Mura Collective, a crafts based organization which specializes in using Shibori on handlooms, to
give it a unique look and feel of the hand organic processes.

The Shibori Collection is styled in both classic and contemporary shapes, with hand embroidered yokes. The ethnic line comes in three distinct colors variants – fuchsia, navy and turquoise and is available in all RituKumar stores. The range starts from Rs. 17,000 onwards.
