A book titled ‘ Listening, Learning & Leading’ written by Vice President Venkiah Naidu was released by Union Home Minister, Amit Shah in a function held in Chennai yesterday. The book chronicles his two year tenure in office.
During his speech at the event, he expressed his concern on the huge pendancy of cases and suggested several reforms like setting up of judicial tribunals and a Supreme Court bench in Chennai. He also suggested ways to streamline cases and make delivery of justice more effective. According to him judicial tribunals should be given a time limit within which they should decide cases. He requested the media to a ” dispassionate watchdog, a honest messenger, a friendly advisor and a wholesome entertainer.” In the same way he requested legislators to ” discuss, debate and decide, not disrupt.”
