Rahul plans to step down

After the poor performance of the Congress party in the Lok Sabha elections, the Congress Working Committee met and analysed their performance. There maybe another committee meeting later this week as Rahul insists on stepping down from the post of Congress President. It is understood that Rahul had asked the Treasurer and General Secretary of the party to look for a  replacement for him.

However Mr Patel who is the Treasurer of the party said that he had gone to meet Congress President to discuss routine administrative work and no other speculation was correct in response to reports that Rahul was planning to step down from his post. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was upset that senior leaders of the party didn’t support Rahul and he was left to fight a lonely battle against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
