The Tamil Nadu government constituted a Commission of Inquiry headed by a retired judge of the Madras Bench of the Central Administrative Tribunal Justice A Arumughaswamy to investigate the death of former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa.

T T.V.Dhinakaran,nephew of Sasikala told journalists that his family had nothing to fear.He said that he had CCTV footage of Jayalalithaa in hospital which was shot by Sasikala. This footage was not released as Jayalalithaa was in a night dress.However he said he would submit it to the probe panel.He also insisted that the investigation should be led by a sitting High Court judge and not a retired judge.He also reiterated that Jayalalithaa was given the best possible treatment by doctors from Apollo hospital, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi and a London based intensivist Dr.Richard Beale.
