Ace shuttler PV Sindhu felicitated sports achievers and awarded scholarships to students at the Velammal Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Chennai recently. PV Sindhu, the First Indian to be crowned as the World Badminton Champion received a grand reception at the school.
The Olympic silver medallist congratulated achievers in various disciplines of sports at the national and international arena, all-rounders of the school and academic toppers. Sindhu felicitated the sports achievers of Velammal Nexus Schools for their exceptional accomplishments in with Scholarship Awards worth Rs.60 lakhs.
During the ceremony, Sindhu was also honored for her exemplary achievement over the years. She was awarded a cheque of `15 lakh by the school management. The school authorities wished her best for the upcoming 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.
