The Opposition Parties  have together and individually met the Election Commission 94 times in the last 4 months with the request of tallying the EVM – VVPAT slips before final counting. The Election Commission has refused the demand for 100% tallying of the slips. On Tuesday,  22 Opposition Parties again met the Election Commission with the same demand for tallying the slips in five polling booths in each Assembly segment with the Electronic Voting Machines to be done prior to the counting of votes.

If any discrepancies were found , 100% counting of paper slips of VVPATS of all polling stations of the Assembly segments should be done. However,  the Election Commission remained non-committal and told them that they would be a special meeting  of the Full  Commission to discuss the issue.
