Yuthasak Supasorn, the Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) pulled out all the stops to announce their new campaign Open to the New Shades of Amazing Thailand. The Grand Crystal Ballroom, JW Marriott Hotel New Delhi Aerocity, came alive with local art and cultural demonstration (fruits carving, Thai pattern hand painting, Bhutesavara khon-mask painting, Thai desserts and more) Thai classical dance, saxophone performance by Koh Saxman alongwith Indian musicians, the launch of Open to the New Shades theme song and the Muay Thai show, as guests from across the world were kept engaged by model, compere and actor Shivani Wazir Pasrich. Yuthasak Supasorn and Tanes Petsuwan, the Deputy Governor for Marketing Communications, Tourism Authority of Thailand TAT presented 10 awards to supporting partners, travel agents, airlines and wedding planners. Vir Sanghvi, influencer, famous gastronome spoke about his unflinching love for Thailand. Yuthasak, Governor, TAT said, “India generates more than one million visitors a year. In 2017, Thailand recorded 1.41 million visitors from India, up by 18% over 2016. More Indian travellers are diversifying beyond their traditional spots of Bangkok and Pattaya, and exploring Chiang Rai, Rayong, Trat, Hua Hin and Samut Songkram.” Tanes Petsuwan, TAT Deputy Governor for Marketing Communication said, “Open to the New Shades concept is about asking visitors to ‘open’ their minds and hearts to deepen and widen their experiences into a new perception of attractions and variety of experiences in Thailand.” Amitabh Kant, CEO, NITI Aayog was the chief guest of the evening. It was truly a night to remember!
