Celebrated by 192 countries every year, Earth Day has, since its inception, played a role in bringing billions together to save the planet. With a goal of “saving tomorrow today,” Earth Day has made a worldwide impact each year – from bringing together local volunteers to clean up the neighbourhood, to influencing laws signed at the national and international level.

Total Yoga is all set to celebrate Earth Day where participants will have a chance to go on a barefoot run led by one of India’s leading barefoot marathoners, Aakash Nambiar, and take a yoga class to live music by Aneesh Vidyashankar – the ‘wireless walking violinist’ whose music is described as ‘changing lives, one note at a time’. The yoga session will be followed by a Mother Earth meditation, and the event is free and open to all.

This Earth Day, the focus is on educating everyone on environmental issues. To facilitate this, there will be talks and discussions on environmental protection by leaders in the field – including Greenpeace and the Daily Dump. Additionally, as part of the plant-a-sapling drive, participants will get to take home their own seedling to grow and nurture.

Where: The Collection, UB City.
When: Saturday, April 22, 7.15 am – 8.45 am.
