For all those who have always marvelled at Ranveer Singh’s washboard abs or Deepika Padukone’s flat tummy and wondered, ‘what would it take for me to get that celebrity-level body?’ Hard work, of course. But that is not nearly enough. Behind those sculpted bodies are trained people who make sure they sweat it out, keep a vigilant eye on their plates and glasses, and motivate them to stay focused. A whole lot of dedication is the key secret to a chiselled body, and of course someone to train you to attain it.
With our day-to-day work life adding enough monotony to our routines, it is only fair to have a form of workout that refreshes you while making you sweat. Dumbbells and machines are not everyone’s cup of tea, especially not after sitting on a desk the whole day.

For all those, who want to get down to becoming fitter but without going to a gym, finally have ample options to choose from – you can now dance away, jump and hop, or just kick your way through.  The city is now home to a lot of off-beat fitness places that break the boring workout myth are slowly and steadily gaining a lot of popularity. In order to make life a lot simpler, we have put together some of them, whose final goal is fitness but in the most fun way possible. Read ahead carefully before you make your pick…

Abhinav Parkour and Free Running

Story so far: When it started training in 2009, no one had a clue about parkour. There was no proper facility. No safety. The idea was to spread the same joy in a safer environment to everyone, so that they could go out and explore the world more confidently. Their goal is to make people move and enjoy themselves and others in that movement.

Personal attention: They have dedicated batches for beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. The circuits in each batch are designed in such a way that each individual gets to try one after another with attention.

Its uniqueness: All of us went to playgrounds as children and jumped around to our heart’s content. Now that we have grown up, we barely have the permission to freely jump around. Those of us that call ourselves traceurs (a practitioner of parkour) or freerunners live the joy challenging and overcoming it. You don’t start trying to jump across a 10-foot gap, from the top of a railing to another. You start by jumping in place, where you stand. And you do it over and over until you’re comfortable enough to jump a little higher, push a little further. Parkour is a discipline. It’s hard work. It’s consistent training. There’s no secret shortcuts.

3 advantages: Improved physical health to a high level of movement and activity. Massive amounts of body control: agility, balance, and power. Mental strength through problem solving, repetition, and increased confidence
