Setting the stage for a diverse musical trance, Phoenix MarketCity hosted the third edition of the October Fusion Festival, on Saturday. The fusion festival started with great zest and enthusiasm. The tuneful extravaganza featuring musical talents from all over the globe had top artists like Rajhesh Vaidhya & Band (India), Blessing Bled Chimanga Trio (Zimbabwe) and Bo Bun Fever, Mahima Dayal Mathur & Amrit Rao (France).

The evening warmed up with a scintillating performance rendered by Bo Bun Fever, Mahima Dayal Mathur & Amrit Rao from France. The duet by Mahima and Amrit got the audience to sing along and enjoy their one-of-a-kind music as they churned out their popular numbers setting the ideal weekend mood for the music lovers in the city.

As the evening moved ahead, the audience was seen to ahead for more. Following France was the band from Zimbabwe. An electrifying performance was given by Blessing Bled Chimanga Trio from Zimbabwe who decided to give the stage a miss and be with the audience right in the center and energize them with their singing and dancing. Marimba and Violin’s Instrumental duet between Blessing Chimanga and internationally acclaimed ‘VIOLIN SISTERS’ Dr. M. Lalitha and M. Nandini mesmerized the crowd who was seen enjoying the performance by letting their hair down and engaging with the music.
The trio set the audiences on a high, as the beat of the drums, marimba and percussions gave birth to some fabulous foot-tapping tunes. Every moment of the performance was a riveting and memorable experience.

The mall witnessed a melodious grand finale with an enthralling performance delivered by Rajesh Vaidhya’s veena recital which was a collective of all the percussion instruments. The classical fusion with modern beats gave the evening a very unique touch. He displayed his innate talent with the rest of his band which comprised of Keith Peters on the base guitar, Naveen Iyer on the flute, Manjunath NS on the drums, Shree Sundarkumar on the drums and Chandrajit on the tabla. The flamboyant personality of Rajesh Vaidya drew a large crowd towards the stage, and had them swaying to his tunes.

The Fusion Festival with esoteric rhythmic notes and catchy songs fascinated and enthralled the youngsters from all over the city. The audience wholly reciprocated the energy from the esteemed artists, creating a mesmerizing evening of fusion music.
