The Bombay High Court dismissed a man’s plea for divorce on the ground that she was not dutiful and did not cook tasty food. A division bench upheld the order passed by the Family Court that dismissed the divorce plea on the ground that the allegations did not amount to cruelty and thus was not a ground for divorce.

The bench further observed that the wife of the petitioner was a working woman who had the additional burden of buying groceries and cooking for the petitioner and his parents and also had to do the other household work. The wife before going to work used to cook for the entire family and produced witnesses who testified the same. Hence the petition was dismissed as bereft of merits.
