Muslim women’s rights group support amendments to Bill

The Muslim Women’s rights groups which protested against instant triple talaq have welcomed the amendments to the Triple Talaq Bill and urged Members of Parliament to ensure its passage. They said that the changes made to the proposed law are in consonance with their demands and hoped that the law will become a reality soon.

The Bill however was not introduced in the Rajya Sabha in the monsoon session. It is expected to be placed in the winter session and once it is passed, it will have to go back to the Lower House for approval of the amendments of the Bill already passed by it.
