It has been 12 years since MS Dhoni, led the Indian team for the first time against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2007. Here we are revisiting those wonderful years of Dhonism.

MSD is one of the most loved captains of the Indian Cricket Team and it’s been exactly 12 years since Dhoni made his captaincy debut for India, at the 2007 ICC World T20 against Pakistan. The match ended in a victory for the Men in Blue and back then that long-haired wicket-keeper batsman was the reason behind the fantastic victory.

The 2007 World T20 triumph was only the start and what was an incredible journey of 12 years under the leadership of Dhoni. In his guidance, the Indian team also went on to win the 2011 ICC World Cup as well as the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy, making him the first captain to complete the treble.

With Dhoni well into the twilight of his career, it’s still being the talk of the town that he is soon to retire as Virat’s tweet sparks speculation among the followers. Dhoni has gone on to touch the hearts of many fans, teammates, former and current cricketers.

Dhoni quit captaincy entirely in January 2017, making way for Virat Kohli to lead the team. Dhoni, however, did come back to lead the team for a single match during the 2018 Asia Cup. Over the years he won many heats and was the best caption Indian team ever had.

Dhoni is fondly called as captain cool and his fans go gaga for his spectacular helicopter shots. The true satisfaction of every Indian Cricket fan is to witness the match end by Dhoni’s sixer, as he is the best finisher of all time.
