During campaigning at the final phase of the Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that he was confident that the BJP would come back to power with a majority of its own. He turned up unexpectedly at the scheduled press conference and made these opening remarks. However he redirected questions posed him to BJP Chief Amit Shah saying that he was a disciplined soldier of the party.
Mr Modi addressed 142 rallies across the country and said it was a thanksgiving exercise to the people who he said would be voting back a government that had enjoyed a full majority. He felt that the Assembly election was amazing and that it was held in a positive spirit.
