Mayori presented its latest festive collection – Jaipur Modern – on 5th and 6th Oct at The English Tea Room. This exhibit included everything from dresses, kurtas, tunic, palazzos, bottoms and more. Jaipur Modern is an amalgamation of gota-patti with block prints, which is a collection of light hearted attires tailored in mulmul and pure cottons with vermilions, ambers, emeralds and glistening golds, ethnic to western, from smart casuals to trendy cotton and silk clothing.

Mayori Conscious Clothing Conscious Giving is a fresh international take on Jaipur hand block printing. At Mayori, they are amalgamating traditional printing techniques with fine cotton fabrics and stitching in the modern silhouettes desired by the urban Indian woman of today who slips in and out of many roles effortlessly every day. The modern Indian woman of today is a caring housewife and a devoted mother along with being a corporate leader. She is a caregiver to her parents/in-laws and is also ready to swing in a party all night. All these roles are being fulfilled in a matter of 24 hours, day in and day out with a little support from others. But for this to happen perfectly, she also needs the support of maintenance free, smart and comfortable clothing which can be adorned during the full day and will stay wrinkle-free for her to change roles seamlessly. Mayori is trying to fill the gap of that requirement.

Under Conscious Giving, Mayori donate one for one, that is, for every garment sold they donate an item of utility like table napkins, tray covers, tea cozy’s, lunch mats and more to an NGO which in turn sell them and generate funds for their various causes. Mayori’s current NGO partner is Annam NGO from Mumbai which is filling the nutrition gap in children with cancer and special needs.
