Indian ace boxer Mary Kom 34,was back in her preferred 48 kg category after fighting challenges from younger contenders for a place in the Indian team for the Asian women’s boxing championship to be held in Ho Chi Minh City,Vietnam from the 2nd to 11th November 2017.
Mary Kom a five time world champion will be making her sixth appearance. She has five medals to her credit four of them gold. After three days of grueling trials,Mary and Sarita Devi made their mark despite trying their luck in a different weight category. The squad led by Mary Kom comprises of other woman boxers namely Neeraj, Shiksha, Sonia, Pavitra,Sarita Devi,Lovelina,Pooja Rani,Saweety Boora and Seema Punia.
