Man arrested for raping British tourist

A 30 year old man from Thank your in Tamil Nadu was arrested by the South Goa police for raping a 42 year old British tourist in Goa and robbing her of her belongings. Superintendent of Police (South Goa) Arvind Gawas said that CCTV footage obtained from the site of the incident and also at the railway station helped them to track down the culprit Ram Chandrappa, the same evening.

The victim who is a regular visitorĀ  to Goa for the past several years, was proceeding from the Canacona railway station to her guesthouse near Palolem beach when the accused chased her into the fields nearby and raped her. He then fled with her bag containing cash of Rs 20,000/. He has been arrested and taken into custody.
