Cancer, the dreaded disease has always stood as the biggest medical challenge staring at the mankind as well as the medical fraternity in the modern times. The disease in several of its menacing forms has been prevalent across the world troubling humans cutting across age and genetic built.

Lung cancer is a cancer that arises from the lungs, Small cell lung cancer and Non-small cell lung cancer are main lung cancer. 85-90% of lung cancer causes due to smoking.  The best way to reduce one’s risk of developing lung cancer and other respiratory complications is to quit smoking at any age.

One way to raise awareness and support lung cancer patients is to tell those around us the truth about lung cancer. This new understanding can create new waves of support and aid to those who need and deserve our help. When people know more, they are more likely to lend a helping hand, key symptoms and screening options. Symptoms include change in mucus, chest or back pain, coughing up blood and difficulty swallowing. Tests that may be used to diagnose lung cancer include chest X-rays, CT and PET scans, bronchoscopy, and needle biopsies. If you are a current or former smoker and over age 55, you may be a candidate for a low-dose CT scan screening that can offer early detection of lung cancer, potentially at its earliest stages, he said.
