Leaders of many Opposition Parties are likely to skip the meeting called by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss the proposal of “one nation, one election.” DMK President M. K. Stalin, Trinamool Chief Mamata Banerjee, Telugu Desam Party Chief N Chandrababu Naidu and Nationalist Congress Party leader Sharad Pawar may not attend the meeting.

The issue was discussed at a meeting chaired by the Congress Parliamentary Party leader Sonia Gandhi. It is not sure if Rahul Gandhi will attend the meeting. The Opposition Parties are set to meet today to take a final call on the issue. The Left Parties will be attending Prime Minister’s meeting on one nation one election as Mr.Modi felt that a lot of time, energy and money was wasted on conducting elections in each state as they go to polls at different dates.
