Lawyers practicing in the Madras High Court boycotted court for the second day protesting against the transfer of the  Chief Justice to Meghalaya High Court. Most of the members of the Madras High Court Advocates Association, Madras Bar Association and Women Lawyers Association abstained from attending the court proceedings.
A group of lawyers conducted a demonstration on NSC Bose Road near the Aavin gate demanding the withdrawal of the order of transfer. The Chief Justice too did  not attend court. Protests were held even in the districts of Tamilnadu where lawyers protested against the punishment transfer. They strongly condemned the transfer and appealed to the President of India, Ram Nath Kovind not to accept her resignation.
